In a new interview with Elle France, actress Angelina Jolie has opened up about the role of motherhood and her own mother, the late Marcheline Bertrand.
In the intimate chat, the Hollywood star talks candidly about how Marcheline would have contributed to her grandchildrens’ lives.
“She would have thrived as a grandmother,” Jolie said of her mum Marcheline, a French-American actress who died of cancer in 2007.
“I know how much she would have contributed to their lives and I am sad they will miss out on that.”
And Angelina has pined for her mother over the years too — especially during her recent divorce from actor Brad Pitt, while caring for her six children — Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
“I would give anything for her to be with me at this time. I’ve needed her. I talk to her often in my mind and try to think what she might say and how she might guide me.”
