From Central America to Michigan, and back

ST. JOSEPH — Hand-woven bracelets made by artists in Nicaragua and Guatemala are not something usually found in a third-grade classroom in Michigan.

But third-graders at Lake Michigan Catholic Elementary School will sell these bracelets, or “pulseras” in Spanish, to their classmates and sending the money back to the artists in Central America.
